LA DORIA has been recognised by UNHCR for its ongoing commitment to promoting work integration with the project “Welcome. Working for refugee integration”
For the second year running, LA DORIA has been recognised by UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency, for its ongoing commitment to promoting work integration programmes for political refugees. The award ceremony took place yesterday in Rome, during a special event attended by our Human Resources Director Antonio Febbraio and his colleague Williams Landolfi.
The UNHCR awarded LA DORIA with the ‘Welcome. Working for Refugee Integration’, which certifies the company’s commitment to providing employment opportunities to asylum seekers and people enjoying international protection, thus underlining our support for a more inclusive society. Muhammad Shahid, an asylum seeker employed on a permanent basis by our company, was also present to receive the award. Since the start of the project, we have offered jobs to 9 refugees and/or asylum seekers, 8 at the Parma plant and 1 in Sarno.
Our CEO, Antonio Ferraioli, said: ‘We are proud to be part of this project in which we have believed from the beginning. Through initiatives such as this, we reaffirm our values and strive to create a more welcoming and supportive society towards those who are forced to flee their countries because of war and persecution’.
