LA DORIA CELEBRATES 70 YEARS

From a small tomato processing factory founded in 1954 in the Salerno area, La Doria is today a leading global player in the in the industry, with a presence in about 60 countries and a turnover of more than 1.2 billion euros. For the future, the Group intends to continue growing and strengthening its leadership in the private label segment.

Angri (SA), January 08, 2025 – La Doria S.p.A., a leading group in the production of tomato derivatives, sauces, legumes and fruit juices under major retail brands, celebrated in 2024 the milestone of 70 years of history, a journey marked by product and market diversification, continuous innovation and a strong commitment to people and the environment. “1954-2024: 70 Years bringing Italy to the World” is the claim that accompanied this celebration, telling the story of the journey of a company capable of bringing the best of Italian food to tables around the world, without ever forgetting its roots.

Founded in Angri in 1954 by Diodato Ferraioli and Anna La Mura, today La Doria is synonymous with quality, tradition and the Italian entrepreneurial spirit, with a global presence in about 60 countries and a turnover that will exceed 1.2 billion euros in 2023. The story of La Doria is the story of a family and a land: Diodato and Anna started a small tomato processing factory that, over the years, has grown into a cutting-edge industrial group. “Their passion and values of ethics, innovation and connection to the land continue to guide us every day,” says Antonio Ferraioli, CEO of La Doria.

Over the years, La Doria has faced great challenges: from the crisis in the canning industry in the 1980s to the earthquake that hit the company hard, challenges that were met with determination and turned into opportunities for growth. The listing on the stock exchange in 1995, the only company in Southern Italy to take this step, was a milestone that fostered significant growth and consolidated the company’s presence in international markets. With the acquisition of a majority stake in La Doria by Investindustrial in 2022 – with the Ferraioli family retaining a minority stake – the Group has entered a new phase of development, further strengthening its international presence and laying the foundations for an even more ambitious future. The most recent milestones include the acquisition of Clas, which strengthened the Group’s presence in ready-made sauces, especially pesto, and the acquisition of the business unit of Pastificio Di Martino, now La Doria Pasta PL, making La Doria a direct pasta producer.

“Our mission is clear: to continue to grow as a global company while remaining true to our Italian identity. La Doria’s success is the result of teamwork: from management to employees, everyone has contributed to making this company great. We will continue to invest in talent, diversity and the development of our resources. From the beginning, we have shared with Investindustrial a development strategy that will allow us to consolidate and expand our business, becoming a platform for aggregation in the sector in which we operate. As we celebrate our 70th anniversary, we look to the future with courage and ambition, ready to face new challenges and write a new chapter in our history”, concludes Ferraioli.

La Doria’s future also lies in sustainability. For years, the company has been committed to combining economic goals with social responsibility, adopting sustainable practices that create value for people, the environment and the communities in which it operates.
